Let our experienced trainers train your dog for you throughout the day! With our Day School program you can choose a specific behaviour, like walking nicely on leash, coming when called or settling around distractions, and we'll work with them one on one to improve their skills in that area.
How does Day School work?
As a day school student, your dog’s day begins with arriving at our facility between 7:00am and 8:00am. Each day school dog has their very own room filled with comfy places to rest and enrichment activities to keep them occupied in between their training sessions. Once they’ve been dropped off we’ll get them settled in their room, and come 8:00am the training day begins!
Our trainer will collect each dog for an individual training session, working with them for a short period of time before returning them to their area to have a break. The trainer will rotate between each dog throughout the day, so that every dog gets plenty of training time.
At 4:00pm training finishes for the day, and we’ll finish off your dog’s stay with some playtime and relaxation. You can pick your dog up anytime between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.
What training methods will be used?
We will use only reward based training methods with your dog, setting them up for success and teaching replacement behaviours for any undesirable habits. We will never use any training methods based on fear, pain or intimidation.
How can I track my dog's progress?
Your dog’s trainer will record a video summary for you at the end of their day, reporting on how they went and providing instructions for continuing their training at home. If there’s any theoretical content associated with what your dog is working on we will also send through written homework sheets.
